Playing the waiting game

I got a phone call from Jon at 5:30 this morning. I'm so glad I made him take his cell phone with him this time! He had just arrived in New Jersey. He had to run off and take care of things, telling me to "Go back to sleep." HA! After that! I was so excited how could I go back to sleep?! I did eventually fall back asleep, only to be waken periodically by the F-16s flying overheard (why does the AF have to schedule their training exercises so early on a weekend?) Got another call at 9:30 with some flight information: ETA past 11 p.m. They are flying into the airport here and driving down to Ft. Huachuca in vans. I will be following. Who knows when we'll get home finally? God forbid the Army does things at a decent hour! :) Updated flight information puts him arriving earlier, but we still have to wait at the airport for the others to get here.

So, I've kept busy up to this point, vacuuming up after the mess the dog is shedding around the house after his bath yesterday. I've done the dishes, swept, organized everything, and even weeded out our mini forest out in the rain! I got the car washed yesterday and of course it's raining today. Doesn't it always work that way?

With this late arrival, I'm thinking I'm calling in sick to work tomorrow. I wasn't planning on taking any days off since I have zero vacation left and Jon has to go right back to work (no block leave until the rest of the battalion comes home). If anything, I'll go in for a couple hours. They won't be able to pry me off my husband so easily!

WOW! this is so exciting...I'm so glad he's coming home :)

As for the interview....our school had an interview, and I unknowingly did mine over the phone! i can't remember what they asked, but think of it as a job interview. My all around interview advice: Sell Yourself.

Nursing is becoming a collaborative practice & is promoting further education, so working with others is very important. Think of the reasons you want to be a nurse. Dress professionally, but what you're comfortable in (ex...my mom insists that I wear a dress or skirt to interviews, yet I feel most comfortable in nice slacks). Get their early. don't chew gum or wear strong perfume. Make sure you get the names (or business card) of the people you interview with & write them thank you notes asap. If they are making their decisions within 3 or 4 days, send the thank notes via email. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but, you're going to do great! Have fun with the hubby!
