....but I ♥ this commercial.
Sorry....it's sooo hard keeping up with blogging and keeping up with reading all your wonderful blogs with husband home. Lately he's started commenting (not complaining....yet) on how much time I spend reading blogs. I'm not even posting that often!
I've also been knitting. Hopefully I will get some pictures up soon....as soon as I finish this little cutie that is.

This is my reality
I love coming home after work to find my husband intently working on one of his little projects in the garage. I love how he put everything down to grill some hamburgers and bratwurst for dinner. I love having my husband home. I feel like a different person now. The neighbors around me only knew me as the one whose husband was in Iraq. But I'm part of a couple and now they need to get to know the other half.
I feel different. The house feels different. The days feel different. When I first open my eyes and am fully conscious in the mornings, I'm just happier, warmer, content. I don't remember feeling this way for a long time. I like it! But, man do those weeks drag by now!
We celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday. I had a couple rib-eyes for the occasion and Jon had bought a 14 oz. lobster tail at Costco that day. It was sooo yummy! I had maybe two bites of steak and I ate that whole lobster tail all.by.myself......with lots of butter! Yeah that started off a weekend of horrible eating!
On Valentine's Day we tried eating at our favorite Italian restaurant, but everything was super crowded. So we just grabbed a couple Hot N Ready pizzas from Little Caesar's and noshed on that. We followed that with a glass of port for dessert. Jon promptly went to bed at 9:30 while I stayed up and watched SNL while knitting.
This coming Saturday I have my nursing school interview. I'm so nervous! I really hope I get in! If I don't, I've got a back up plan. I'll be happy either way. Because the night he came home, Jon told me if I don't get into nursing school we can start thinking about having kids within the next year or two. Yay!!!! I never thought I'd hear those words out of his mouth! I've been expressing a really strong desire to have kids now and I'm so happy!
Blogging will remain sporadic, as I share the MacBook with Jon now. I literally have to pry it out of his hands when I get home! I'm still catching up on all your blogs! Well, wish me luck on the interview!

Savoring every moment
Pinch me--is this real? Jon got in on Sunday night at 9:30. Unfortunately, the whole ADVON group was able to get on that plane, so we had to wait until midnight for the other flight to come in. From the airport we made the 75 mile drive down to Ft. Huachuca, Jon riding in the van that came to pick them up. There was no ceremony, just a few encouraging words. From there we had to drive back up to Tucson. We didn't get home until past 4 a.m. We're still recovering from that long night.
Life has returned back to normal for me, but it doesn't feel normal. That'll take a while. But I'm so, so in love with Jon! It's so hard to go to work when he's staying at home. Granted, he only got one day off and went in today. But on Monday, I only went in to work for a couple hours. No one was going to pry me off my husband easily! Today, I even considered skipping out on my kickboxing class, just so I could get home and see Jon sooner. Good thing I didn't because as I was driving home after the class, he called me to tell me he just got home! When at one time I dreaded weekends, they cannot come fast enough now. It still hasn't really sunk in that he's staying this time, even though I see his toothbrush by the sink and his shampoo in the shower. This will all take some time.

Well, it's off to bed for me. I'm not going to be so much of a night owl now with Jon home!

Playing the waiting game
I got a phone call from Jon at 5:30 this morning. I'm so glad I made him take his cell phone with him this time! He had just arrived in New Jersey. He had to run off and take care of things, telling me to "Go back to sleep." HA! After that! I was so excited how could I go back to sleep?! I did eventually fall back asleep, only to be waken periodically by the F-16s flying overheard (why does the AF have to schedule their training exercises so early on a weekend?) Got another call at 9:30 with some flight information: ETA past 11 p.m. They are flying into the airport here and driving down to Ft. Huachuca in vans. I will be following. Who knows when we'll get home finally? God forbid the Army does things at a decent hour! :) Updated flight information puts him arriving earlier, but we still have to wait at the airport for the others to get here.
So, I've kept busy up to this point, vacuuming up after the mess the dog is shedding around the house after his bath yesterday. I've done the dishes, swept, organized everything, and even weeded out our mini forest out in the rain! I got the car washed yesterday and of course it's raining today. Doesn't it always work that way?
With this late arrival, I'm thinking I'm calling in sick to work tomorrow. I wasn't planning on taking any days off since I have zero vacation left and Jon has to go right back to work (no block leave until the rest of the battalion comes home). If anything, I'll go in for a couple hours. They won't be able to pry me off my husband so easily!

Just a quick post
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and you all survived the Black Friday crowds if you went out at all. We just went to Costco to get a couple TVs (!!!) I scored a free cookbook that they were handing out at the door (yes, there was a line even here!) and it actually has recipes I would like to try! I will get back to posting soon, I promise. And thanks for the comments everyone! I will get caught up on blogs next week! I've been a little absorbed by my wonderful husband. And he's made me breakfast, so I must go before it gets cold!

He's home!
It still hasn't sunk in yet! Jon got home at 4 last night. I got a phone call at 1 when he got to Dallas, so I had to leave work earlier than I thought I would. I took my neighbors with me to pick him up, so they could take pictures. I'm exhausted. I'm not used to sharing the bed, especially with a snorer! To top it all off, I'm sick and have no voice......I sound like Rachel Ray and I'm annoying myself! Poor husband....I hope he doesn't get sick! I'm not complaining though. He's home!!!
Reunion with Mr. Mutt!
